Regional Arts Network Luncheon

Each quarter the Arts Council hosts the Regional Arts Network (RAN) luncheon which is offers seminars and workshops on topics affecting SWLA’s cultural economy, and the luncheons allow for networking opportunities for area creative workers, young professionals, and community leaders. Past topics have included brand marketing, website design, grant writing, promotional resources, crowdsourcing, etc.

On Tuesday, June 11th at 11:30 a.m., the Arts Council will host a free seminar in Room 108 of Central School Arts & Humanities Center. Erin Davison, grant and training coordinator for Business Health Partners in Sulphur, will give a presentation on effective grant management methods, including discussions on tracking grant funds, documenting payments and services, and completing follow-up grant requirements.
Representatives from Walnut Grove, including Gus Schram, COO and Vice President, will also give a presentation on the up and coming traditional neighborhood that is currently under development off of Sallier Street in Lake Charles. Schram will give an overview of the mixed-use neighborhood and the role it will play in the area’s economic and cultural development.
On April 9th, the RAN luncheon featured a panel of local gallery managers and professionals discussing tips and techniques for artist statements, artist résumés, and professional exhibit installations. Panelists included Carol Anne Gayle, exhibit coordinator at Historic 1911 City Hall, Heather Ryan Kelley, professor of painting at McNeese, and Amie Herbert and Erica McCreedy, both of the Arts Council.
