The second classical series concert of the Lake Charles Symphony’s 2011-2012 season will be held Saturday, February 25th at 7:30 p.m. at the Rosa Hart Theatre. The Lake Charles Symphony will perform Johann Strauss’s Blue Danube Waltz, Jennifer Higdon’s Percussion Concerto (which won the 2010 Grammy for Best Contemporary Classical Composition), and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade. The guest artist, Lonny Benoit, a percussion professor at McNeese State University, will be performing with several other symphony percussion members. General admission is $20 and tickets for seniors/students/military is $15. Tickets are available at the Lake Charles Symphony office at Central School and at the Lake Charles Civic Center.
